It’s a proud moment for us to announce the expansion of our highly-regarded cannabis competition into New Mexico. The High Times Cannabis Cup New Mexico: People’s Choice Edition 2023.
On April 1, 2022 , adult-use marijuana sales in New Mexico were launched. The first weekend saw a staggering $3 million USD in sales from nearby dispensaries. Since then, there has been a steady increase in sales. The industry has been thriving for nearly a year and you are ready to explore some of the best state products.
Here’s the good news for New Mexican consumers: You have the power. You can pick up one of our Judge Kits from our Retail Partners at Pecos Val Productions starting June 17th through August 20th. This cup has 11 categories:

- Sativa Flower (2 entries max per company)
- Hybrid Flower (2 entries max per company)

- 1 entry maximum per company for Infused Prerolls
- Solvent Concentrates (2 entries max per company)
- Non-Solvent Concentrates (2 entries max per company)
- Vape Pens & Cartridges (maximum 2 entries per company)
- Gummies & Fruit Chews: Maximum 2 entries per company
- Edibles: Chocolates & Non-Gummies (2 entries max per company)
- Sublinguals, Capsules, Tinctures + Topicals (3 entries max per company)
Once you have received your judge kit, login to the online judge’s portal. Leave your feedback. Judges are asked to evaluate the products using a variety of criteria, depending on what category they fall under. The aesthetics of a product and its packaging, aroma/scent, taste/flavor profile, and effects/effectiveness are just a few things we ask judges to consider. We calculate the overall score of each product and announce who was most highly rated by judges via a digital awards ceremony on September 3.
Our People’s Choice Edition contest aims to highlight some of the best and most unusual products in the state. You can enter the contest by submitting your product to Pecos Val Productions between June 5 and 7. You must read the following carefully to understand how you can enter.
Entry Requirements
- Flower: (228) 1-gram samples. No 3.5-gram submissions will be accepted.
- Samples of Pre-Rolls and Infused Rolls
- Concentrates & Vape Pens: (228) .5-gram samples. No 1-gram submissions will be accepted. Carts require batteries
- 100mg maximum THC in edibles
- Samples of Sublinguals and Capsules with Maximum 100mg THC.
One entry costs $250 and is non-refundable. Each entry is $100, which is also non-refundable. If you submit more than two entries, the $100 fee per entry will be refunded. If all entries have been submitted successfully, you can receive a refund. Sponsorship fees will be waived.
