Gabi is a cashier at a local supermarket in a small town in Austria. A simple middle aged woman, married with two adult children. Her life rolls into routine and her husband does not seem to be very interested in her anymore, until one day she starts to feel that she is persecuted by voices that she alone hears. While the voices become more and more intense, she struggles to cope with her everyday work. She begins to neglect her obligations, preferring to take long walks. Everyone around her is worried but no one can help her in this path of consciousness and self-awareness.

Scriptwriter/director: Karl Markovics
Starring: Ulrike Beimpold, Nikolai Gemel, Simon Jaritz and others.

Free entrance

Duration: Friday 16 and Saturday 17 June

This programme includes films from European cinema, bringing to light creators and works that have been distinguished in international festivals, so as to get the audience closer to independent cinema but also for the return to this art form through summer cinema in open spaces in the town.
The programme is implemented with the help of Embassies and Foreign Delegations in Cyprus and is launched with two films-tributes to the Austrian actor, scriptwriter and director Karl Markovics, who will be present at both screenings and converse with the public.

With the support of the Embassy of Austria.
